Always confirm a wire transfer with out-of-band communication. 

Hearing an “OK” from more than one person is typical best practice.

Threat actors frequently impersonate someone within the organization in an attempt to get employees to send them money. If someone requests a wire transfer, verbal confirmation from a verifiable source within the organization through out-of-band channels can help ensure the request isn’t fraudulent.
